Rear Arch Buckets

The two rear fender buckets at the back of the car are potential rust points. The battery tray and the section under the tray are especially bad for rust, that if left will cause major issues.

The tray was in good shape and just needed a quick blast with the wire wheel, some rust converter spray for good measure and a lick of hammerite.

Under the battery tray was a bit of a mess and full of black greasy substance, after cleaning  the black stuff away with a jet washer, and using my endoscopic camera, some surface rust could be seen.

You can seen the roof drain plastic pipe in the picture below which can be pulled out the way to get at the areas underneath it.

In the picture below it seems like a repair was done and a plate welded in near the back of the passenger side arch

The back corner looked cleanish with no signs of a repair and only surface rust.

Used Jenolite Rust Converter on all the areas

The driver side bucket was in good shape

Painted both sides with white rust prevention Hammerite

Battery tray came up nice and clean

Used the endoscopic camera to ensure under the battery tray had been cleaned up and painted

The area under the battery tray and the driver side bucket are now ready for the Fluid Film coating to help keep the rust from coming back.
